Match report A difficult week for Dan pulling together two XIs to play on Sat and Mon of a Bank Holiday weekend, made even worse by the loss of a player through sickness on the morning of this game. Things were not improved by being inserted after Dan lost the toss. However, Worly made steady progress against some accurate Felixstowe bowling and, by drinks, had reached 89 for 3 with Gino and Harry W well set. Unfortunately, things quickly fell apart thereafter with Gino bowled, soon followed by Dan and Harry N both playing on. In the end, Worly limped to 110 all out. In spite of a poor end to the innings, spirits were high as the ball was swinging and the wicket offered assistance. Confidence was increased further by a brilliant start by Harry N and Simon. Harry took 3 early wickets with pace and bounce testing all the Felixstowe batsmen while Simon was his normal miserly self, repeatedly beating the bat. Unfortunately, when he did find the edge it either went to ground or, on a couple of occasions, was dropped. By drinks, Felixstowe were struggling at 40 for 4. For a second time, drinks changed the course of the game with Felixstowe scoring freely as a 5th wicket proved elusive. In fact it was only taken with less than 30 required. Dan deservedly then took a 6th wicket but the game was soon up. A disappointing end, particularly when considering Felixstowe take 20 points compared to the 4 gained by Worly in a game where Worly were in strong positions in both innings. However, an opportunity for revenge will come quickly with Felixstowe travelling to Bedfield in 2 days time.
