Women & Girls
Under the directive from the ECB, all our ladies cricket training & matches are cancelled until further notice.
See you in the summer everyone.
Women and Girls Cricket is an exciting area of growth in the game, with more and more clubs offering competitive cricket opportunities for Girls and a variety of playing formats for Women. Our Club is fully committed to providing a full and high quality cricket programme for Women and Girls in 2019.
Winter Nets - start Sunday 10th March at Thomas Mills High School Sports Centre. 2-4pm. Continues weekly until 28th April. All welcome, £4 per session, membership not required. No experience necessary, all coaching and equipment provided, soft ball and hard ball.
We run informal weekly coaching/practise sessions every Friday evening, commencing Friday 3rd May, from 6 to 7.00pm at the club during the season, until mid-September.
This season we plan to run soft ball and hard ball sessions side by side, so there will be the opportunity for beginners to join us and progress up to hard ball if they wish. Women and Girls aged 13 and above are most welcome to attend. All equipment is provided and no experience is necessary. We are very fortunate to have occasional coaching from one of the Suffolk Ladies coaches.
2019 sees our second season of league cricket, competing in the Two Counties T20 Div 3, with twelve matches throughout the season, five home and five away. Teams are nine per side with max 5 overs per bowler and a 30* the retire score for batters. Each team plays against a side home and away per season.
We also hope to participate in a number of enjoyable Soft Ball Cricket Festivals.
