Match report After cancellations at Braintree and Kelvedon, a first away game for Worly with Owen and Kyle making their debuts. Dan won the toss on another sunny, warm day and inserted Yoxford. Rodders and Sam started well with only 11 runs coming from the first 5 overs; however, with Rodders taking a break due to a back spasm and the hosts' openers playing some excellent shots the scoring quickly accelerated. There was some relief with a first wicket falling at 81 but with a drinks score of 103 for 1 Yoxford seemed well placed for a score in excess of 200. However, the drinks break seemed to invigorate the Worly bowlers and the hosts collapsed to 144 for 8 in the face of accurate bowling from Mark and a returning Rodders - both finishing with 4 wkts. A late flurry took the score to 168 before a deserved wicket for Sam brought the innings to a close. Although the odd ball bounced erratically, the pitch was generally good and Worly were confident of chasing down the target. Rob moved quickly to 20 before David took over, dominating the young Yoxford attack. He took 21runs, including the only 6 of the day, from the 7th over. He passed 50 in the 12th over and was unfortunate to be caught on the boundary for a forceful 58 with the score on 93. There was little respite for the hosts with Ed arriving at the crease to continue Worly's dominance. Both Rob and Nick fell to attacking shots to leave Ed and Owen, a useful 24 not out on his debut, to finish the game with 15 overs to spare. A third consecutive win with a strong performance in all 3 aspects of the game.
