Match report Worly welcomed Yoxford to the Bedfield Oval looking to push on after their first win the week before against Eye & District CC. It was Alfie's first game as skipper for Worly while Sam B was away on Rugby duties. The Yoxford skipper called correctly and opted to bat first on a hard deck with little clouds in the skies to help the bowlers, Alfie was unfazed with the toss result as those that played in the first XI game the day before knew that spin would come into the match later in the innings. Arthur and Harry N opened up for the hosts finding good rhythm, paired with attacking lengths made scoring difficult early up for the visitors. Some cautious batting with selective shots meant it wasn't until the 10th over until the visitors brought up their 50. Skipper Alife brought himself and Dan W into the attack and quickly wrestled back control with five wickets between the two bowlers in quick sucession. Particular mention to DK who took three sharp catches at short cover. Yoxford scrambled to 150 from their 30 overs and Worly felt like the 151 needed for victory was well within their grasp. Arthur and Bill opened proceedings for the hosts with Arthur scoring boundaries with ease before being undone by a mean in-swinging yorker. Harry W continued his fine form with yet another 50 not out scoring five 4s and four 6s in the process. After Harry W's power-hitting, DK and skipper Alfie ticked along nicely at five runs per over to bring Worly their second victory of the season and two on the bounce! Next game is away to Felixtowe and Corinthians.
