Match report A second game against Felixstowe in 3 days. The Bedfield ground was in perfect condition again but low overhead cloud made for a cool, overcast afternoon. Dan won the toss and opted to field first. Unfortunately, after Saturday's fantastic opening spells, Simon and Harry N failed to reach the same heights and the Felixstowe openers were able to tick along at 7 runs an over for the first 15 overs, reaching 125 by drinks. Sam brought a little more control with Mark picking up 3 wickets to further stem the flow but the young Felixstowe opener continued on to a fantastic century - his first in adult cricket. Further inroads were made by Alfie to make the score 210 for 5; however, in the final 6 overs, Felixstowe took the game away from Worly with 73 runs and no further wickets, aided by a disappointing display of home fielding and catching. In response, Worly started steadily against some accurate bowling from the visitors. The batsmen seemed relatively comfortable but scoring opportunities were limited. It was not until the second string bowlers were introduced that Worly tried to increase the scoring rate in the deteriorating light and managed to lose a number of wickets to attacking shots with the visitors' young pace bowler then clearing up the tail. Overall, unlike Saturday's reverse fixture, this was a game where Worly never really gained a foothold against a youthful Felixstowe side. Plenty of areas for improvement for the next game at home to Woodbridge on Saturday.
