Match report After a disappointing result and game at Abberton last week, Worly travelled to Sudbourne hoping to return to winning ways and so it proved with a resounding 5 wicket victory. In fact, an even more impressive result would have be achieved but for 4 late wickets. On a bright sunny day with a dry pitch and slow outfield, Dan lost the toss and perhaps surprisingly Worly were asked to field. Rodders was as economical as ever and picked up another 2 victims for his growing list of 'bowled through the gate', Sam, as last week, was unlucky either beating the bat or seeing edges fall sort. However, it was the introduction of Dexter in the 16th over that changed the game as he was on a hat trick in his first over. The hat trick was missed but he soon had the impressive figures of 5-0-8-4 with catches from Dan, Gino x 2 and Mark. A 5th wicket was initially elusive and when Harry steamed in to clean bowl 3 of the tailenders it seemed it might not be taken; however, it did come as Sudbourne's No 11 was tramped in front. A excellent performance from all the bowlers but great to see a real team player like Dexter be the star of the show - 5 for 16. Worly's response started well with 27 off the first 4 overs. Rob departed at the start of the 5th; however, Ed joined Nick and the score quickly moved on to 55 with a relatively easy 9-wicket victory on the cards. There was a late twist though with Nick caught behind and Gino unfortunately run out backing up without facing a ball then Ed and Sam departed Leg Before with 12 still required. The late nerves were soon eased with Dave and Harry confidently reaching the target. A good win with 2 home games to follow to consolidate Worly's position of 3rd in the table.
