Match report After heavy overnight rain Worly travelled to Abberton on the promise of a covered wicket; however, on arrival, it was obvious that the covers had not done their job with only the ends dry and significant damp patches on the wicket. In the conditions the toss was crucial and, having won every other toss this season, it was a bad first loss for Dan. The hosts had no hesitation and inserted Worly. The early batsmen struggled to find their timing with only Ed producing an innings of note, many of the others were caught trying to attack. In the end, the lack of patience on a difficult pitch proved costly as Worly were all out with more than 17 overs remaining just as the wicket was starting to dry. Ed left high and dry for a patient 35, The Abberton openers struggled to find their timing initially against some accurate bowling from Rodders and Sam with the latter beating the bat on a number of occasions. With such a small target, the hosts held their nerve and, despite the loss of one of the openers, easily ran out winners with more than half the overs unused. A disappointing day for Worly, a '0' point loss for the first time in many years.
