Match report Wow, wow, wow.

I am so proud of this team! We really really won this one. A home match and we batted first and only managed 83 runs. Some loopy bowling pitching right at feet on many occasions made big shots very hard. New member Tracey bravely faced first and their bowling was pretty bang on target. With our first three batamen out, Tracey and Verity both bowled and Tamsin caught in quick succession, managing nine runs, we were getting nervous. Then Tabitha had a fantastic run and was joined by Fiona who was also having a great day. 29 runs from them and we breathed a bit.... with 40 extras from them we finished with Katie and Jemma not out.

At half time we had visions of it being an early tea.

However. Eleven players on the field really gave us options and with some fab-u-lous bowling, am-a-zing wicket keeping and out-stand-ing fielding things got very, very exciting..... Louise Davey (hockey’s my game, cricket is boring) was positively hopping next to me by the fifteenth over and you could cut the tension on the pitch with a knife.

Five and six were run out, one by Tamsin and the second set up by Louise and Jemma finished her
Seven.... Bowled by Kate. Wow

The air got thicker... we literally couldn’t breathe.
Last over. Wides rebowled. Tamsin bowling. Could go horribly wrong. It was so close... eeekk. Calm down Tamsin..... calm... calm.... Then we managed to run out the last player on the last ball.

WE WON. First home win. Jubilation. And we won because we deserved to, we played better on the day against a strong side.

I will remember it forever.

PPS Tamsin has to be player of the match even if I never usually pick her for fear of nepotism!
