Match report Another Saturday and another rain affected game with torrential rain mid way through the first innings; however, other than a little drizzle later, the game was largely unaffected. Earlier Rodders had lost the toss (again!) and the hosts had elected to bat. Given the fast outfield and short square boundaries, Worly did well to restrict a strengthened Mildenhall to 216 with Dan the pick of the bowlers. Indeed, with 3 catches going down, it could have been even better. In response, Worly put the hosts under pressure and easily ticked along at 5 an over, reaching 113 for 1 by drinks. Unfortunately at that point Ed, Rob and Matt went in quick succession which put Mildenhall firmly back in the game. However, Worly's middle order kept the scoreboard ticking over and, with David and Dan at the crease at 190 for 6 with 5 overs remaining, the game was at Worly's mercy. Sadly, Worly were unable to press home the advantage with Rodders last man out from the first ball of the 45th over with 6 runs still required. The main difference between the 2 sides in the end was the fielding with the hosts taking their catches and executing 3 run outs which proved decisive, particularly those of Rob and David when well set. After 3 consecutive defeats, Worly head to Yoxford next week looking for a win to distance themselves from the league's bottom two sides.
