Match report For the last game of the season Worly welcomed Yoxford to Bedfield with a win for Worly securing the 3rd spot and a win for Yoxford moving them out of the bottom 2. On a damp Sep day the toss was crucial and fortunately the Yoxford captain called incorrectly and his side was inserted. Yoxford started steadily despite losing an early wicket; however, the rate never passed 3 an over and they lost their opener for 41 just before drinks. A third wicket first ball after drinks, quickly followed by a 4th, put Yoxford on the back foot but the young Yoxford middle order prospered as Worly introduced spin at both ends with the score passing 100 in the 33rd over still for the loss of 4 wickets. However, the re-introduction of Rodders and Dan saw the visitors rapidly lose their final 6 wickets without batting out their overs. In response Worly changed the order to give a flying start, opening with Matt and David. However, David soon fell for 3. This didn't stop Matt taking the attack to the Yoxford opening bowlers and when Graham fell for 8 in the 10th over, the score was already at 47. In the next 10 overs, Rob and Matt continued the assault and the target was passed at the end of the 20th over, Matt undefeated on an aggressive 68 and Rob on 36. The result left Yoxford with one further game to secure their safety while Worly jump 2 places up the league to finish 3rd.
