Match report A weakened Worly side travelled to Long Melford and were soon regretting losing the toss as the host's batsmen set about the Worly attack. After 2 weeks of sunshine the outfield was rock hard and allied to the short boundaries made it extremely difficult to contain the home batsmen. Long Melford passed 150 in the 25th over and a huge target was on the cards. However, as the bounce became more uneven, Mark and Ed started to peg back the hosts before Rodders returned to take the final 2 wickets. 210 looked well under par but Rob went in the 2nd over and Worly limped to only 18 off the first 8 overs. However, Ed and Mobbsy grew in confidence bringing up their 100 partnership before both fell in quick succession. The 2 wickets certainly raised the host's expectations, was another famous Worly batting collapse on the cards? Fortunately, no as Matt and Eric added a rapid 76 taking Worly to within 30 runs of victory. Matt, Rodders and Dave fell in quick succession; however, Worly weren't to be denied with Eric steering the team home, passing 50 in the process. A valuable 20 points against the league's bottom side.
