Match report With a forecast of showers, Terry won the toss and put Tendring into bat. On a difficult wicket, the home side rode their luck with the edges that did go to hand going down. However, approaching drinks, Worly gained a level of control and, when the 5th wicket fell at 105, a short chase seemed on the cards with Rodders and Sam returning excellent figures. Unfortunately, the hosts' 6th wicket partnership proved crucial, putting on 79 before a further flurry of wickets, including 2 for Ian in his first game of the season, saw Tendring close on 207 for 9 - given the variable bounce probably 50 runs over par.
The Worly response started in the worst possible way with Dom going in the first over. Terry and Rob briefly steadied the ship; however, wickets continued to fall leaving Worly in a similar position to the hosts with around 100 on the board and 5 wickets down. In fading light and drizzle, Worly were unable to match the exploits of the hosts and, despite an excellent effort from Beth, wickets fell at regular intervals with the final wicket being taken just after Worly had secured their 4th batting point, 32 runs adrift. A disappointing result and, once again, minor mistakes during the game proving costly.
