Match report After the freezing conditions of the previous week, conditions were much improved for the visit to Woolpit. Unsurprisingly, given the wet outfield and slow pitch, the home side elected to field on winning the toss.

Once again, WCC made a solid start against a disciplined line and length from one end and 'liquorice allsorts' the other. At drinks, the game was evenly poised with the total at 78 for 2. However, Eric (39) and then Sam (57*), ably assisted by Terry and Graham, put the Woolpit attack to the sword with 160 from the final 22 overs.

In reply, Woolpit started confidently reaching 60 for 0 inside the 13th over but things were quick to change with Sam and Rodders sharing 5 wickets in the next 6 overs. Although the home side enjoyed greater success with the 6th and 7th wicket partnerships they were always behind the game and seemed more intent on securing the 5th batting point rather than chasing down the total. Sam took his 3rd and the side's 9th wicket in the last over but couldn't find a 4th to secure a 5th bowling point.

Overall, a good win and another 19 points secured.
