Worlingworth Cricket Club 1st XI v Mildenhall IV on Sat 16 May 2015 at 1300
Worlingworth Cricket Club Won By 79 runs
Match report
On what was another lovely day for cricket, we welcomed the visit of Mildenhall IV, who were full of confidence after their win against Maldon III the week before. Their captain won the toss and put us in to bat.
One key factor of our strong start to the season has been the opening partnership put on by Sam and Terry at the beginning of each match, and this week was no exception, both men looking in fine form and playing glorious cricket shots.
After Sam got out, Rob came in and carried on from where he left off in the previous game, and him and Terry put on a strong partnership.
Wickets gradually fell throughout the innings as we played a few shots, whereas Terry continued to build a tremendous innings, reaching a well deserved first 100 of the season.
We ended on 234, a total we were confident of defending.
After a lovely tea from Snelly, we went out to field hoping to pick up the ten wickets we needed.
However on a wicket which was in favour of the batsman, wickets were hard to come by. Once again Simon bowled tremendously well, and deserved more than his 1 wicket he picked up.
We were only able to pick up 3 wickets, however it was another convincing winning margin for us of 79 runs, and we go into next weekends double header full of confidence.
