Worlingworth Cricket Club Won by 60 runs

Match report Our third game of the season welcomed Maldon III to Bedfield, with our 1st XI hoping to build on the success of the first two weeks of the season by securing another victory. Skipper Pete won his first toss of the season, and elected to bat on what looked like another fine batting track.

Similarly to last week, our opening pair cashed in on the lovely batting facilities and piled on almost 90 runs before Terry fell for a well structured 38. Then up stepped Sam. A man in fine form, after scoring 40 and 51 in the first two games of the season he scored a sensational 100, his first for the club. Along with Rob's 69 these two piled misery on Maldon's bowlers, leading us to a very formidable score of 260.

After a lovely tea courtesy of Graham, the Maldon openers were ready to begin their chase, and we got off to a good start with Rupert picking up an early wicket. However wickets were a rarity on this day, with us only managing to pick up 4 wickets, the pick of the bowlers was Eric picking up 2 wickets towards the end of the innings.

So a frustrating day with the ball for us, nevertheless it was another convincing victory, which continues our 100% winning start to the season.
