Match report For our first game of the season we travelled to Tendring, looking to kick off the new season with a win.

Having lost the toss, Tendring's skipper stuck us into bat, on a wicket which was fairly hard, albeit very green, for a mid April fixture.

With our new look opening pair of Terry and Sam we got off to a very solid start, wickets then started to tumble. Other than a measured 40 for Sam and a quick fire 37 for Simon, the remaining batsman failed to stick around, leaving us with a below-par total of 135.

After a delightful tea (8 out of 10) we marched onto the field knowing we needed an exceptional bowling and fielding performance to see us to victory, and that is what we got.

With some unplayable bowling from Sam and Simon wickets continually fell throughout Tendring's innings, along with some lightning fielding from Dom and Terry to earn us two run outs, we managed to bowl Tendring out for just 59, meaning we won the match comfortably by 76 runs. Sam and Simon both taking 4 wickets a piece with some superb bowling.

A superb start to the season for the 1st XI.
