Match report So the Under 11 Worlingworth season got under way with our first game against Easton in the Cup. In true cricket tradition the temperature dropped by 5 degrees the wind picked up & the rain came lashing down.
After a delayed start Easton were first in to bat...we had some great bowling especially from Seb, Josh, Fraser and Troy who all got a wicket. Well organised Fielding by the Captain Josh, Olly really shone with his committed running & Grace managed to stop a few boundaries being scored. Matty made his debut as Wicket Keeper and looked the part. Easton managed to score 60 runs - their inning was over and we all retreated to try and get warm
Worley went out again to bat, first up Seb & Fraser, followed by Matty & Grace, next up Charlie & Troy (after he eventually managed to get the gloves on).Charlie was so intimidating he managed to get 5 wides bowled against him! Last but not least Josh & Olly. Easton were very strong bowlers and we unfortunately finished our innings on 192, although Josh did manage to score some cracking 4's.
So...our first trip out this year ended in a loss BUT I thought as a team we looked really strong, just a few points. Make sure that we talk to one another & don't run ourselves out...let's be a bit braver & try and get a few more quick singles.
So a big thanks to Kevin who appears not to have managed to escape the Under 11's and was Umpire for the night. Also a big thank you to the 3 wise monkeys for their scoring, good maths SAT's revision adding & subtracting! Thank you to Mark for all the coaching tips for the team & another thank you to everyone who helped serve drinks / clear up. A great team effort.
Man of the Match - Has to be Matty for his debut as Wicket Keeper what an impressive debut, showed no fear a very impressive performance.
