Garry Sobers who supported our Cricket Club and was a personal friend of our Club Captain Chris Watson, has died aged 89. He was a first class Barbadian cricketer 1954-1974 and considered to be cricket's greatest all-rounder. He was the first person to hit six sixes in one over for Nottinghamshire! In 2009 he was also inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.
We were lucky enough that he came over to England to officially open our new clubhouse in 2011 and we have a plaque on the wall that he uncovered on the day. It was a thrill to see him at the club for sure!
