Match report After a run of 5 defeats, the visit of Mildenhall IVs gave Worly hope of ending that run. Rodders lost the toss (is anyone counting?) and Mildenhall opted to bat first. The last 3 games had seen an indifferent performance from Worly in the field so it was encouraging that this game saw a marked improvement with 8 catches and a run out with Harry N, David and Mark contributing 7 of the catches and the runout. The bowlers started well with Harry N and Hugo reducing the visitors to 51 for 5 which soon became 63 for 7. Mildenhall's No 8 and 9 then consolidated almost reaching the 100 before 3 quick wickets finished off the innings with nearly 10 overs unused. In response, David and Sam set about the attack as if they were keen to finish the game in quick time; however, their fall and that of Matt left Worly 26 for 3. Graham continued the attack but just as he was taking the game away from Mildenhall he fell for 32, quickly followed by Daniel and John. Worly still required 40 runs with the Mildenhall bowlers making scoring difficult, the next 7 overs resulting in 8 runs. The partnership between Harry D and Mark was crucial with some frayed nerves in the pavilion and the target of 113 seeming some way off. With the extra 9 overs, Worly had 54 overs to reach the target so the run rate was not an issue with the two batting cautiously at first without taking risks. Slowly they chipped away with the 'leave' being one of the key shots. Finally the score reached 100 and Rodders stopped pacing up and down on the boundary. Victory soon followed and Worly had secured a much needed 20 pts. A good all round performance with Harry D's innings, well supported by Graham then Mark, proving the difference between the 2 teams.
